Chionodoxa luciliae

Famiglia: Liliaceae
Nome comune: Chinodoxa gigantea

A substantial amount of confusion exists surrounding the correct name. The name C. luciliae (after Bossier, the wife of a Swiss botanist) is the most commonly occurring name in the trade. This little plant, only 4 to 5 inches (10-15 cm.) tall, has lavender-blue flowers with a white center. This species naturalises easily and can also be grown in lawns. Two cultivars exist: ‘Pink Giant’ and ‘Alba’ (white).
